Chris Rogers

Building Automation Systems Engineer

Background

I have a passion for technology and electronics. It all began one summer when I was in middle school. My Uncle, who works in a similar field, managed to gather around 10 old desktops and CRT monitors, saying "Good luck! With all of them, you should have enough to make one whole computer"! Ever since then, I have been hooked on electronic devices. I spend a significant amount of time tinkering with electronics and computers. In fact, I have reached a point where I possess commercial-grade network equipment with Windows Server running as the network domain, DHCP server, and Active Directory for my home network. Why not, right?!

My Career

I have found my career path lies within the DDC/SCADA world. My first few jobs were in the installation department of a small companies, where I had the opportunity to work in various technical aspects of running a DDC company, including, but not limited to: sales, engineering, construction, and maintenance. I was fortunate enough to leave a strong impression on my experienced colleagues, who were willing to provide me with intense knowledge. A lot of the absorption was largely due to my work ethic and the thrill I found in solving complex problems, as well as my ability to work well with others. Before I left these companies, I had risen to the position of Lead Systems Engineer.

At present, I have work at a Naval weapons research and design base, which has been an amazing experience. The size of the system and the diverse range of environments we have here are truly remarkable. I work with everything from generic office buildings, to cutting-edge scientific research labs and supercomputer data farms. It's exactly what you would expect from a military research and design base, right?

During my building automation career I have become the 'go-to' person when it comes to solving complex system problems. I have an expertise and deep understanding of building automation systems. I have earned a reputation for being the reliable problem-solver that colleagues and clients rely on. Whether it's troubleshooting issues related to fluid-based systems, optimizing air distribution for efficient HVAC performance, or delving into the intricacies of programming, I am known for my ability to find effective solutions. I thrive on the challenge of unraveling technical puzzles and ensuring that systems operate at their best.

Skills

These skills collectively contribute to my ability to excel in building automation and engineering roles, enabling me to effectively contribute to projects and also deliver outstanding results.
